X-ray imaging uses a small amount of ionizing radiation to produce images of internal structures, such as bones or the chest.

What to expect

You will be positioned for the requested views and asked to stay still while each image is taken.

Before your visit

Tell the team if you are or may be pregnant. You may be asked to remove jewelry or clothing that could interfere with the images.

Questions to confirm when scheduling

Ask which identification, insurance information, referral or order, and prior images you should bring. Confirm your arrival time and how long to allow for your appointment; timing depends on the study ordered.
